Create quizzes safely in your browser with no downloads. Compare student quiz makers and check privacy, sign-ups, and data security.

A student quiz maker that runs in your browser should need no download, ask for little, and let you stop and clear your work on a shared device. Adobe Acrobat’s quiz maker runs online, is free to start with no sign-up or credit card required, and says files are deleted unless you sign in to save them.

Many students make quizzes on school computers, library machines, or a family laptop, and each of those raises questions that a feature list does not answer. Do I need an account? Where do my files go? What is left behind when I close the tab? This article gives a short safety checklist and compares what several browser quiz tools say about accounts and stored data. Details come from each tool’s own pages and from guides where noted, and vendor claims are marked as such. Policies and plans change, so read each tool’s own privacy page, and follow your school’s rules about which tools you may use. Start with the checklist, then pick a tool.

Create a Quiz Online From a Shared Computer: What Should You Check First?

Check four things before you start. First, whether the site is allowed on the device, since schools often block tools. Second, whether you must sign in, because signing in ties your work to an account you will need to leave. Third, what you will upload: use your own notes and avoid anything personal or restricted. Fourth, how you will save the result. Adobe’s quiz maker page says files are deleted unless you sign in to save them, which helps on a shared machine but means an unsaved quiz is gone when you leave. Copy your best questions to your own storage as you go.

Create an Assessment in a Browser Without an Account: Is That Possible?

For practice quizzes, yes. Adobe’s page says you can start with no sign-up or credit card, Quiz Maker’s page says you can make, take, and share a quiz without an account, and AceQuiz’s page says you can start with no card or sign-up. The trade-off is saving: Adobe’s page says to sign in to save, and Quizbot’s page says a free account lets you save a quiz and upload PDFs. A graded assessment is different, because your instructor’s system holds that, and you cannot create one on your own. Decide whether you need to save before you choose how much to sign in.

Create Quizzes Online in a Browser: What Should Students Know About Accounts and Data?

Know what each tool asks and keeps. Gimkit guides agree that students can join a live game without an account, and an older guide says student accounts ask for a date of birth, so read the sign-up screen before you enter personal details. Adobe’s page describes encryption and automatic deletion, and Adobe’s Student Spaces FAQ says customer content is not used to train the generative AI models behind Acrobat features. Other vendors have their own statements. Read the privacy page, use a school email only if your school allows it, and keep a different password for each account.

Quiz Creation in a Browser: How Do You Clean Up Before You Leave a Shared Device?

Finish in five steps. Copy your questions to your own storage first. Sign out of every account you opened. Close the tab, and delete any exported files from the device’s downloads folder. If a tool lets you delete uploads or a quiz, do it, and remember that Adobe’s page says files are deleted unless you sign in to save. If you shared a quiz by link, remember that anyone with the link may be able to open it, so share only with people you trust and only after you have corrected it. A private or guest browser window helps on a shared computer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these tools on a school Chromebook?

Usually, because they run in a browser, but your school may block some sites or limit which accounts you can sign in with. Check your school’s approved tools list or ask your teacher. Adobe’s page says you can start with no sign-up, which avoids account questions on a managed device. Test with a short quiz first.

Is it safe to sign in with my school account?

It depends on your school’s policy and the tool’s terms. Some schools restrict which services accept school logins, and some tools ask for extra details from students. Ask your instructor or learning technology office first, and use a personal account only if your school allows it.

What should I never upload to a quiz tool?

Anything personal, anything your instructor has restricted, and anything you are not allowed to share, such as exams, answer keys, or copyrighted course materials. Adobe’s Student Spaces FAQ says creating, uploading, or sharing content that violates third-party copyright is prohibited. When in doubt, type your own notes.
